Bank Holidays in October 2021

In the month of October, there are many occasions like Gandhi Jayanti, Valmiki Jayanti, Navratri, Dussehra, Eid-e-Milad, on which there will be a holiday in the banks. Some holidays/festivals falling this month are related to a particular state or region. There will be 5 Sunday holidays in this month. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. 

In this month, Gandhi Jayanti is on 2nd October, on which banks will be closed across the country. Banks will remain closed in some cities on October 6 on the occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya. Banks will remain closed in many cities on October 12 on the occasion of Durga Puja (Mahasaptami). Similarly, on October 15, banks will remain closed in most cities on the occasion of Durga Puja/Dussehra/Vijayadashmi. Banks will remain closed in many areas on October 19 on the occasion of Barawafat. Maharishi Valmiki’s birthday is on 20 October.

  • 19 October – Eid-e-Milad/ Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi/ Milad-e-Sharif/ Barawafat – Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun Banks will remain closed in Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
