Swayam Prabha Yojana: DTH project for educational excellence

Swayam Prabha: Having the highest number of young population in the world, India has a tremendous opportunity to transform its economy if these youth are properly educated and equipped with skills necessary to let them enter the job market.

As we are moving from agrarian society to Industrial economy, the utilization of the largely available human resources is one of the biggest challenges the government encounters. Majority of the youth has no access to quality education which could be due to various reasons being lack of financial resources one of them. Considering the challenges in the form of geographical expansion of the premier institutions, it would be not possible to serve the needs of the youth unless we use the technology effectively. So, with a view to provide access to quality educational content, government of India’s ministry of HRD has come up with a project called “Swayam prabha”. The project was launched on 9th July 2017 by the then president Shri Pranab Mukharjee.
